Beware of Superpages Scam.... The Free Trial that wasn't.

Just a quick note:

When advertising with Superpages, you will likely be sold a free trial for a website. They basically take your business name and add a 'dot com' to the end and put up a quick template.... then the fun begins.

They register YOUR domain, and if you are lucky, they will release it back to you for $50. But you will have to fight for it!!

I have done a little research and even seen people getting billed right away for this overpriced web hosting service.

I just hate it when some supposedly legitimate business entity scams their clients like this under the guise of a free trial.

I learned of this when it happened to a friend of mine.... he couldn't imagine that anyone else would have registered his domain. Then after a quick search, we found out who owned it. The scammers at Superpages.

Now, they are stalling on the transfer.... but he had to give them $50 for the process to start.  This is the classic scam of opening up a free account for you and then reusing to close it at your request.

Wish my friend good luck!!

Tom - isn't that just disgusting?    As if we don't have enough to do and enough to worry about than some  one wasting our time and money with a scam like this.
